Further feedback sought on Gorleston seafront masterplan

People with a love for Gorleston are being given the chance to have their say on the future of the town's seafront.

Great Yarmouth Borough Council asked for initial public views on a development of a masterplan for the area last year, receiving some 1200 responses. Now the council is consulting on a draft document based on those responses and discussions with local leaders and organisations.

The council has launched an online survey asking for feedback on a series of proposed actions, covering topics including conservation, accessibility, wayfinding, and events.

Leader of Great Yarmouth Borough Council, Councillor Carl Smith said "Gorleston seafront is an important and cherished place in the borough with its Edwardian architecture, beach huts and a distinct, relaxed atmosphere. We want to preserve what is good and sensitively build upon its success.

"We have listened to people's views and put together a draft plan for the area, and now we want to hear from local people and groups on our suggestions for the future. This is a real chance to influence how Gorleston progresses over the next ten to 15 years, so everyone's feedback is very important to us."

People can view the draft masterplan and take part in the online survey via the Council website by visiting great-yarmouth.gov.uk/gorleston-seafront-masterplan until midnight on Sunday, September 18, 2022.
