Forget me Not Grants

Forget me Not Dementia Grants
Forget me Not is a grant of up to £500 provided to people experiencing the symptoms of dementia, to help pay for small adaptations and equipment. The Forget me Not Grant is Norfolk-wide and is funded by contributions from all seven district councils within the county.

In Great Yarmouth, grants could be used to cover items such as:

  • changes to lighting, flooring and decoration
  • changes to bathroom and kitchen facilities such as water level detectors and safety cut outs
  • installation of equipment including clocks, pill dispensers, noticeboards, signage on doors and assistive technology
  • other work that can improve independence

Making small changes to a home can significantly improve the health, wellbeing and quality of life of people living with dementia and their carers. Home adaptations can enable people to live independently for longer, to continue doing the things they enjoy and can reduce or delay the need for residential care or hospital admissions.

Anyone can apply for funding by sending an email to forgetmenot@great-yarmouth.gov.uk or by calling 01493 846190

We will ask you to briefly explain your situation and why the works are needed.

By accessing the grant, you are giving authorisation for any works to be carried out, although in rented accommodation we will require the landlord's permission for some of the adaptations.
