Privacy Notice: coastal adaptation supplementary planning document - consultation

Who we are: Great Yarmouth Borough Council (the Council), Town Hall, Hall Plain Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, NR30 2QF, 01493 856100, is the data controller for the purposes of the UK General Data Protection Regulations (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018 (DPA).

How we use your information: We will use your information in order to inform the preparation and Adoption of the Coastal Adaptation Supplementary Planning Document. The processing of this information is necessary for the Council to undertake a public task as defined under Article 6(1)(e) of the UK GDPR, and has a clear basis in law namely Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2012

Data Sharing: By responding to this consultation, you are accepting that your name and response will be made available for public inspection and published online in accordance with the Act stated above. However, other personal information such as email addresses and telephone numbers will not be published.

This document is being jointly prepared by Great Yarmouth Borough Council, East Suffolk Council, North Norfolk District Council, the Broads Authority and the Coastal Partnership East Team. Therefore, your personal information may be shared with all partnership authorities, however only in so far as it relates to the preparation and adoption of the Coastal Adaptation SPD.

Retention: Your personal information will be stored securely and retained until the Supplementary Planning Document is superseded + 1 year (local retention policy).

Your rights: You have a number or rights available to you, including the potential right to see copies of all the data held about you, to ask for it to be corrected or deleted, to request the Council to restrict what it does with your data in certain circumstances, to object to what the Council may do with your data, and to data portability. Please note that these rights are not absolute and there are circumstances where they do not apply or the Council may override these rights, however, if this is the case you will be informed of this.
