Privacy Notice: Property and Asset Management Lease, Licence and Tenancy

About us: Great Yarmouth Borough Council (the Council), Town Hall, Hall Plain Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, NR30 2QF, 01493 856100, is the data controller for the purposes of the UK General Data Protection Regulations (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018 (DPA). 

How we use your information: We will use your personal information for the purposes of granting and management of a lease / licence or tenancy agreement. The lawful processing ground for this information is defined under Article 6(1)(b) of the UK GDPR, e.g processing is necessary for the performance of a contract to which you are party or in order to take steps at your request prior to entering into a contract

Data sharing: Your data is held by Great Yarmouth Borough Council and is shared with third parties, including where obliged to do so, utility suppliers, named trade/credit referees, our Solicitors and Insurers and any other company you have a contractual obligation to pay for services as part of your obligations under any subsequent agreement, which may arise from this application, lease, licence or tenancy with Great Yarmouth Borough Council. This will include companies that Great Yarmouth Borough Council contract to supply services and also contractors who provide quotations and/or undertake emergency work.

Retention: Your information will be kept strictly confidential and will be stored securely by the Council. We will hold your information for the duration of the term of the agreement including any renewal plus 16 years, after which time it will be securely deleted.

We will only use your data within the terms of data protection laws. We will periodically review dates for keeping personal data and where necessary update these privacy notices

Your rights: You have a number or rights available to you, including the right to see copies of all the data held about you, to ask for it to be corrected or deleted, to request the Council to restrict what it does with your data in certain circumstances, to object to what the Council may do with your data, and to data portability.

Please note that these rights are not absolute and there are circumstances where they do not apply or the Council may override these rights, however, if this is the case you will be informed of this.
