Private rented accommodation is advertised in a variety of ways:

• Online - many websites advertise properties, for example, Gumtree (opens new window), SpareRoom (opens new window) and Rightmove (opens new window)
• Local newspapers
• Letting agencies (there are no longer agency fees, so this is now a much more affordable option)
• Community notice boards in shops, supermarkets and community centres
