Middlegate youth invited to eat, drink and have their say

YOUNG people living in Great Yarmouth's Middlegate area are invited to a free food and pamper event where they can have fun while sharing their thoughts and aspirations about the place in which they live.

Middlegate youth

My Middlegate, to be held at the Middlegate Hut, on Thursday, April 19, is a drop-in youth event open to all young people on the estate, specifically teenagers, between 2.30pm and 7.30pm. There will be free BBQ food, provided by the Norfolk Sausage Company, as well as free manicures and hot chocolate - free to all young people who attend.

Daniel Hastings, Community Development Manager at Comeunity, the borough council's Neighbourhoods Management Programme for the area, said: "As part of supporting stronger, better connected communities, we are always working to bring together people within their own communities and encourage them to discuss their priorities and aspirations for their neighbourhoods.

"Middlegate is an important historic area of Great Yarmouth and has huge potential: home to a strong community, near to the town centre which is being regenerated and surrounded by the borough's rich cultural heritage. Young people are the future of Middlegate and we're keen to hear their thoughts and aspirations for their area."
