Awards for shops, businesses and market traders

The Civic Society of Great Yarmouth is about to launch a campaign to reward shops, businesses and market traders in the town centre who go that extra mile. During March and early April members of their awards committee will be assessing these premises under four categories: Retail, businesses - banks, betting shops, estate agents etc. - food and drink establishments and stalls on the six day market.

As part of the Keep Britain Tidy Great British Spring Clean initiative, The Civic Society of Great Yarmouth is linking with other local groups and arranging a litter pick on Saturday, April 13th, beginning at 10am and lasting for about 2 hours.

Great Yarmouth Arts Festival has been awarded £10,000 by the Community Fund of the National Lottery. Great Yarmouth Spring Clean (update)

Great Yarmouth is set for a Spring Clean on Saturday 13 April and anyone is welcome to join in. Organised by the Civic Society of Great Yarmouth and the Great Yarmouth Preservation Trust it is part of the Keep Britain Tidy Great British Spring Clean Initiative.

Praise for the town's shops, businesses and market traders

Over recent weeks a group of Civic Society members has been judging shops, businesses, places selling food and drink and the stalls on the Six Day Market and have come up with a short list of finalists in four categories. These establishments are being informed of their success and will have a vinyl sticker to display showing that they are one of the finalists.
