Supplementary Planning Documents

This SPD will cover the coast between Holkham and Felixstowe. It is currently being prepared by a partnership of:

• Great Yarmouth Borough Council
• East Suffolk Council
• North Norfolk District Council
• The Broads Authority 
• The Coastal Partnership East Team

The purpose of the document is to offer guidance on how to interpret and carry out planning policy in relation to coastal matters. The guidance will help to facilitate a consistent planning approach along the Norfolk and Suffolk coast.

Great Yarmouth Borough Council, East Suffolk Council, North Norfolk District Council, and the Broads Authority, in partnership with the shared Coastal Partnership East team, invited comments on the SPD during a consultation between 25 January 2023 and 08 March 2023.

The Coastal Adaptation Supplementary Planning Document will provide guidance on how to interpret and implement planning policy in relation to coastal matters.
