Confirmation of compliance with planning conditions

It is possible to request written confirmation that a condition attached to a planning permission has been complied with. This can sometimes help when buying or selling a property.

To request this service, please apply in writing via email to the Planning team and provide the following details:

  • planning application number
  • site address
  • number of the condition, as shown on the decision notice

There is a fee of £115.00 (inclusive of VAT) per planning condition. Payment of this fee is required upfront and we aim to deal with these requests within 15 working days. 

Confirmation of compliance with a planning obligation (section 106 agreement)

It is possible to request written confirmation that a planning obligation has been complied with. This can sometimes help when buying or selling a property. 

To request this service, please apply in writing via email to the Strategic Planning team and provide the following details:

  • planning application number
  • site address
  • the relevant obligations within the agreement

There is a fee of £175.00 (inclusive of VAT) for this service. Payment of this fee is required upfront and we aim to deal with these requests within 15 working days. 

Please note that Great Yarmouth Borough Council can only provide confirmation of compliance with regard to planning obligations where the covenant is between the Borough Council and the landowner/developer. Many section 106 agreements contain covenants between the landowner/developer and Norfolk County Council. Norfolk County Council should be contacted to confirm compliance with such obligations.
