Norfolk Police and Crime Commissioner election results
Following an election on Thursday, July 16, Colin Sutton of Reform UK is the new Police and Crime Commissioner for Norfolk.
The count took place on Friday, July 17, and the results were as follows:
· Christopher John Brown, Liberal Democrat: 10,499
· Mark Rhoades Buckton, Restore Britain: 13,319
· Beth Jones, Labour Party: 14,192
· Marcus Howard Pearcey, Independent: 16,402
· Martin Kenneth Albert Schmierer, Green Party: 16,907
· Colin Sutton, Reform UK: 32,647
· Matthew Patrick Taylor, The Conservative Party; 18,343
The turnout for the election was 17.14 per cent.
In the Great Yarmouth borough area, the number of votes were as follows:
· Christopher John Brown, Liberal Democrat: 345
· Mark Rhoades Buckton, Restore Britain: 4,880
· Beth Jones, Labour Party: 1,165
· Marcus Howard Pearcey, Independent: 779
· Martin Kenneth Albert Schmierer, Green Party: 676
· Colin Sutton, Reform UK: 2,254
· Matthew Patrick Taylor, The Conservative Party; 1,219
Across the borough there was a total eligible electorate of 74,313. Total votes cast was 11,352 (with 34 ballot papers rejected) and turnout was 15.28 per cent.
Sheila Oxtoby, Local Returning Officer and Chief Executive of Great Yarmouth Borough Council, said: "We are very pleased the count went so smoothly. I would like to thank all the candidates and their agents for their efforts.
