Privacy Notice: Beach Huts

About us: Great Yarmouth Borough Council (the Council), Town Hall, Hall Plain, Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, NR30 2QF, 01493 856100, is the data controller for the purposes of the UK General Data Protection Regulations (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018 (DPA). 

How we use your information: We will use your personal information for the purposes of the purchase or hire of a Council-owned Beach Hut. The lawful processing ground for this information is defined under Article 6(1)(b) of the UK GDPR, e.g. processing is necessary for the performance of a contract to which you are party or in order to take steps at your request prior to entering into a contract.

Data sharing: Your data is held by Great Yarmouth Borough Council and will only be shared with our solicitors and our Revenues team.

Retention: Your information will be kept strictly confidential and will be stored securely by the Council. We will hold your information for the duration of the term of the agreement plus an additional year following surrender, after which time it will be securely deleted.

We will only use your data within the terms of data protection laws. We will periodically review dates for keeping personal data and where necessary update these privacy notices.

Your rights: You have a number or rights available to you, including the right to see copies of all the data held about you, to ask for it to be corrected or deleted, to request the Council to restrict what it does with your data in certain circumstances, to object to what the Council may do with your data, and to data portability.

Please note that these rights are not absolute and there are circumstances where they do not apply or the Council may override these rights, however, if this is the case you will be informed of this.
