Privacy notice: Key safe provision

About us: Great Yarmouth Borough Council (the Council), Town Hall, Hall Plain Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, NR30 2QF, 01493 856100, is the data controller for the purposes of the UK General Data Protection Regulations (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

How we will use your data: We will use your personal information for the purposes of providing a secure Kay Safe. The processing of this information is necessary for the Council to undertake actions with your consent as defined under Article 6(1)(a) of the UK General Data Protection Regulations, i.e. the processing is necessary for the Council to provide you with a service for which you have given your consent.

Data Sharing: Your information will be kept strictly confidential. It will be stored in a secure, password-protected database. Great Yarmouth Borough Council may share your Personal Data with Voluntary Norfolk who conduct check in calls for patients that have recently been discharged from Hospital. In addition, should an emergency arise, your Personal Data may also be lawfully shared with the emergency services or health professionals.

How long we hold your data: Your personal information will be kept until the end of the financial year in which the Key Safe was returned, after which time it will be securely destroyed. We will only use your data within the terms of data protection laws. We will review dates for keeping personal data in the future and if necessary, update these privacy notices.

Your rights: You have a number or rights available to you, including the potential right to see copies of all the data held about you, to ask for it to be corrected or deleted, to request the Council to restrict what it does with your data in certain circumstances, to object to what the Council may do with your data, and to data portability.

Please note that these rights are not absolute and there are circumstances where they do not apply or the Council may override these rights, however, if this is the case you will be informed of this.
