Privacy Notice: Skills and Aspirations project

Who we are: Great Yarmouth Borough Council (the Council), Town Hall, Hall Plain Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, NR30 2QF, 01493 856100 are the data controllers for the purposes of the UK General Data Protection Regulations (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018 (DPA).

How we use your information: We will use your information in order to deliver the Cultural Connections project. The processing of your information is conducted with your consent as defined under Article 6(1)(a) of the UK GDPR, i.e. the processing is necessary for us to perform a task and you have given your clear consent for us to process your information for this task. Where you have identified specific medical or health needs, this data is processed with your explicit consent under Article 9(2)(a) of the UK GDPR.

Data Sharing: Your information will be kept strictly confidential. It will be stored in a secure, password-protected database/spreadsheet on our computer system. Your data will be used for this specific purpose and will not be onwardly shared apart from with our Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise partners, a list of which can be found at www.vcse.great-yarmouth.gov.uk , or where you have requested to undertake a training course in which case it will be shared with Norfolk County Council Adult Learning Services.

Depersonalised and aggregated data will be shared with the funders for this project UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

Retention: Your personal information will be stored securely and retained for 6 years from the conclusion of the project, after which time it will be securely destroyed.

Your rights: You have a number or rights available to you, including the potential right:

  • to see copies of all the data held about you
  • to ask for it to be corrected or deleted
  • to request the Council to restrict what it does with your data in certain circumstances
  • to object to what the Council may do with your data
  • to data portability

Please note that these rights are not absolute and there are circumstances where they do not apply or the Council may override these rights, however, if this is the case you will be informed of this.
