North Quay regeneration : gateway to Great Yarmouth

Great Yarmouth Borough Council is progressing with the most significant development opportunity the town has seen in a generation. North Quay is a strategically important site that will become a vibrant new destination, supporting the continued economic growth and prosperity of Great Yarmouth.
Located in the heart of the town, this 10-acre (4-hectare) riverside gateway is allocated within the adopted Local Plan for comprehensive regeneration, offering opportunities for a high-quality mix of commercial, residential, leisure, and public realm uses.
Following the successful award of £20 million through the Government's Levelling Up Fund, there is strong momentum behind the delivery of the North Quay scheme. The site benefits from its proximity to Great Yarmouth Rail Station and the historic Market Place, making it a prime location for investment and regeneration.
The Council is working in partnership with Willmott Dixon to bring forward this ambitious project, which aims to deliver a sustainable, mixed-use development that strengthens both the town's economy and its social infrastructure.
The proposed scheme will include a blend of leisure facilities, retail space, residential units, and high-quality public realm, carefully designed to complement and reflect Great Yarmouth's rich history and heritage. This regeneration will create new employment opportunities, support the growth of local tourism, and promote wellbeing by providing inclusive, accessible spaces that meet the evolving needs of the community.
Residents of Great Yarmouth will be kept informed as the project progresses, with further updates and opportunities to engage in the planning and design process to follow.
