Election of Councillors to Great Yarmouth Borough Council

Thursday 7 May 2026

1. Nomination papers may be obtained from the offices of the Returning Officer, Town Hall, Hall Quay, Great Yarmouth, NR30 2QF, during the times stated below.
2. Nomination papers must be delivered to the Returning Officer at Town Hall, Hall Quay, Great Yarmouth, NR30 2QF between 10am and 5pm on any working day after the date of publication of this notice (excluding bank holidays) but no later than 4pm on Thursday 9 April 2026.  Please make an appointment for delivery by emailing [email protected] or by telephoning 01493 846327.
3. If any election is contested, the poll will take place on Thursday 7 May 2026
4. Applications to register to vote must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 12 midnight on Monday 20 April 2026. Applications can be made online on the GOV.UK website (Register to vote page) (opens new window).
5. Applications, amendments, or cancellations of postal votes must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Town Hall, Hall Quay, Great Yarmouth, NR30 2QF by 5pm on Tuesday 21 April 2026. Applications to vote by post (opens new window) can be completed online.
6. Applications for a Voter Authority Certificate or an Anonymous Elector's Document valid for this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 5pm on Tuesday 28 April 2026. Applications can be made online on the GOV.UK website (Voter Authority Certificate page)) (opens new window).
7. Applications to vote by proxy at this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Town Hall, Hall Quay, Great Yarmouth, NR30 2QF by 5pm on Tuesday 28 April 2026. Applications to vote by proxy (opens new window) can be completed online.
8. Applications to vote by emergency proxy at this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Town Hall, Hall Quay, Great Yarmouth, NR30 2QF by 5pm on Thursday 7 May 2026.
