8. Applying to the Housing Register
- 8.1. Persons wishing to register must complete an Application Form. The application must be completed online through Great Yarmouth Borough Council's website and any outstanding supporting evidence must be provided within 28 days. Assistance will be provided to anyone who may have difficulty applying due to disability, illness, age, not speaking English as a first language, or any other reason (see section 23.1).
- 8.2. It is the applicant's responsibility to ensure they provide correct and up to date information, and any additional information they want considered. If this is not received within 28 days of the application being made, an application can be closed.
- 8.3. The Application will then be assessed by Great Yarmouth Borough Council. Applicants will receive a written response confirming whether their application has been accepted. If accepted, the applicant will be provided with written notification of the Band in which they have been placed and given a registration date.
- 8.4. Where an applicant is not satisfied with the way their application has been assessed or determined they have a right of appeal (see section 38).
