Hemsby and coastal erosion - frequently asked questions
What rehousing assistance is provided to displaced residents? And what support will be offered to vulnerable residents, including elderly, disabled or low-income households?
All those whose homes are at imminent risk to loss from coastal erosion in Hemsby are offered housing advice and support. Where necessary, people are provided with emergency, temporary accommodation as well as welfare support where appropriate. All those affected have an allocated housing support officer to assist with housing applications where required. Housing is provided based on an individual's eligibility, and we therefore urge affected residents to make contact and commence a housing application.
We urge property owners affected to contact the Council's Housing Team for advice and support about housing applications and homelessness. To contact the team please call 01493 846140, email [email protected] or [email protected]. Alternatively, there is help and advice on our website or via a reputable advice agency such as Shelter.
